South Carolina parted ways with head coach Paul Mainieri in March and interim coach Monte Lee after the program's worst-ever season (22-35). AD Jeremiah Donati says the search is active but timeline is fluid, as top candidates are still coaching in the NCAA Tournament. Coastal Carolina's Kevin Schnall is the consensus frontrunner. Donati emphasized the need for stability after four pitching coaches and multiple recruiting coordinator changes since 2021. "This is a national search and we've got a really good set of coaches who have been successful at very high levels," Donati said.
Beamer brought in TCU's Briles as OC/QB coach along with Stan Drayton (RBs) and Randy Clements (OL). Sellers, Harbor, and Stewart all return for 2026.
